IB ACIO 2025: Exams for 3,717 Posts Starting september 16

The Ministry of home Affairs (MHA) has released the city information slip for the Assistant Central Intelligence Officer (ACIO) Grade-II/Executive recruitment exam. A total of 3,717 vacancies will be filled through this process.

Tier-I: september 16, 17, 18, 2025

Tier-II & III: Dates announced later

Mode: Offline/Online (as per admit card instructions)


📌 Exam Pattern: What to Expect

Tier-I: Objective Test

Marks: 100 (1 mark per question)

Questions: Multiple-choice questions (MCQs)

Current Affairs

General Studies

Quantitative Aptitude

Reasoning/Logical Aptitude

English

Time: 1 hour

Negative Marking: 0.25 marks for each wrong answer

Tier-II: Descriptive Test

Marks: 50

Time: 1 hour

📈 Shortlisting for Next Stages

Tier-II: Candidates qualifying Tier-I are shortlisted at 10 times the number of vacancies.

Tier-III: Shortlisted at 5 times the number of vacancies based on combined Tier-I & Tier-II performance.

Tier-II Minimum Marks: 33% (17/50) to qualify.


🏆 Final Merit & Appointment

Merit List: Combined performance in Tier-I, II, and III

Post-Selection Requirements: Character verification, antecedent check, medical exam

Appointment: Initially temporary; permanent posting depends on performance and other factors


⚖️ Tie-Breaking Rules

If candidates have equal marks:

Higher Tier-III marks

Higher Tier-II marks

Higher normalized Tier-I marks

Older candidate gets preference

Alphabetical order of first name
