Covid Vaccination for 12 to 14-year-olds?
In view of the threat of COVID-19, Omicron, Delta Variant, vaccination drive will soon start in india for 12 to 14-year-olds as well, this facility will be initiated in march because by then the target of giving vaccination to children of 15 to 18 years will be almost completed.
This information has been given by Dr.NK Arora, Chairman, National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization (NTAGI). He said, about 7.4 crore people are between 15 and 18 years old and so far 3.45 crore have been vaccinated. If the number of their second dose will come after 28 days, then it is clear that in march, children between the ages of 12 and 14 can be thought of vaccinating.
Talking about the year 2021, in march last year, the vaccination drive was started for people above 60 years of age, in April, vaccination was started for all people above 45 years of age. At present, in view of the increasing cases of Omicron, the booster dose has also started. Those who have taken two vaccines and are eligible for boosters are getting notifications that they should take the booster dose as soon as possible.
