Have you ever noticed that your urine is not clear and light yellow but looks white or cloudy? When this happens, we often believe that the color of urine depends on the amount of water, but when cloudiness or whiteness persists in urine, it can point to a serious problem going on inside the body. According to Dr. Rajesh Kumar Tiwari, when urine looks cloudy, it can be a sign of infection, dehydration or any other disease. Let us know in detail why cloudy urine can become a danger signal.
Urinary tract infection
Dr. Tiwari explains that cloudy urine is most commonly caused by UTI. Pus, white blood cells and protein come into the urine due to bacteria, which can make the urine color white and cloudy. Along with this, burning sensation in urine, frequent urination and pain in the lower abdomen can also be felt.
Dehydration
Urine may appear thick and sometimes cloudy due to lack of water in the body. If you do not drink enough water, the body is not able to completely remove the toxic elements and this affects the color and texture of the urine.
Semen
Sometimes some part of the semen in men comes out with urine, due to which the urine appears milky white. This condition usually occurs in the morning and is not considered serious, but if it happens repeatedly, consult a doctor.
Kidney stone or kidney disease
If there is a stone in the kidney, blood or minerals can mix in the urine and make it cloudy. Also, if someone has kidney disease, then the leakage of protein in the urine increases, due to which the urine looks white and frothy.
STD
Sexually transmitted diseases like gonorrhea and chlamydia can also cause swelling, whiteness or cloudiness in the urine. Immediate treatment of these diseases is necessary.
Cloudy urine may seem like a normal thing, but it can be a sign of many serious diseases hidden in your body. Therefore, it is not wise to ignore it. Clear urine is a sign of a healthy body and if there is any change in it, then getting it checked is the best option.
