Circa 2000. Seenu (Srikanth Reddy) develops feelings for his fellow student Laya (Sanchita). He must complete an impossible task—getting laya tickets to the opening day of Pawan Kalyan's "Kushi"—in order to earn her love. Will he be able to secure tickets for a movie with considerable anticipation that opens in theatres on opening day? Can he win her heart?

The principal roles in the movie are played by rookies or upcoming actors. srikanth Reddy, the lead actor, falls flat in the part. A cameo is made by Sanchita. vennela kishore assumes the responsibility for maintaining interest. His humour is essentially the only one worth mentioning. The movie boasts adequate production and technical quality despite being made on a tight budget. Nee Navve, one of the songs, sticks out. The editing and writing are poor.

What happens when a concept good for a short film is expanded into a full film lasting two hours? "First Day First Show" is the response. We must contrast this movie with Anudeep's critically acclaimed directorial smash "Jathi Ratnalu" because he wrote the story. Even though Anudeep is not involved in the direction, the story structure and related themes are clearly discernible. It is commendable that an effort has been made to honour telugu state cinema culture. A movie must, however, do more than that.
