$1 = ₹87.77. The almighty dollar just flexed its muscles and sent the rupee to the gym — not to lift weights, but to collapse on the treadmill.
And our “brave” celebrities? Silent. Muted. As if they all collectively swallowed their tongues.
Manmohan’s 60 Was ‘Crisis,’ Modi’s 87.77 Is ‘Silence’
But wind the clock back to manmohan Singh’s time. Remember when the rupee touched 60? They were outraged. Tweets flew faster than missiles. The same actors and cricketers who can’t even calculate GST suddenly became financial analysts, warning us of “economic doom.”
Now? Crickets.
The dollar is sitting on a throne of arrogance, mocking us:
“Try buying me now, Indians. Your iPhones, your Netflix, your imported sneakers — all bow to me.”
But bollywood warriors who once posed as defenders of the rupee have zipped their mouths tighter than their Botox. Spinelessness never looked this glamorous.
Maybe the rupee should hire a PR agency. Or maybe it should star in a karan johar film to get some attention. Until then, it will keep sinking while our celebs keep clinking champagne glasses, pretending they don’t see the chart.
Epic hypocrisy. Epic silence. And the dollar is laughing all the way to the bank.
