Ram Gopal Varma generally chooses soft targets like Hindu Gods and festivals as Hindus are tolerant and don't take him too seriously except for RSS,VHP and other organisations.
On Holi too he came with controversial and obscene tweets on his social account. This shocked many and people blasted RGV for his posts. To the top of it he even started a poll on the topic.
