'Balupu' is a Telugu action comedy directed by Gopichand Malineni. The movie was produced by Prasad.V.Potluri under PVP cinema banner. The movie features Ravi Teja in lead role. Shruti haasan and Anjali did female lead roles.
S.S.Thaman composed tunes. The Telugu version released on June 28, 2013 and the movie was declared as a Super Hit. It got a positive reception from critics too. It was initially dubbed into Hindi as Jani Dushmann and Bengali as Herogiri. Recently it got released in Tamil under the title 'Evanda'.
The Tamil version released by 18th of March and it got a below average response. Thanks to Shruti haasan's glamour, the movie was promoted with that. Most of the posters featured Shruti haasan in revealing outfits.
This helped the Tamil version to enter the safe zone. As there were no biggies in Tamil in past few weeks, Hollywood and Tollywood dubbed movies are having a good run. The next big thing in Tamil would be 'Theri'.
