The pre-production work is still continuing, despite the fact that the filming is anticipated to begin sooner in May. Now there has been a confirmation that the movie will begin soon according to reports. The malayalam film Manichitrathazhu, which was a major blockbuster at the time, was adapted to kannada as Apthamitra in 2004, telugu & tamil as chandramukhi in 2005, and finally to hindi as BhoolBhulaya in 2007, and all of these adaptations, despite the time difference, garnered a huge response.


As a result, filmmakers in telugu, kannada, and hindi created a sequel to the film, which was similarly highly welcomed by audiences. Now, as previously said, a tamil adaptation is in the works and ready for production. The film is planned to begin production with the same narrative but with a few changes. Meanwhile, the latest buzz is that actress anushka shetty is in talks to portray the heroine in the much-anticipated sequel 'Chandramuki 2' bankrolled by sun Pictures which is set to release on 2022.
