The upcoming Aanand L. Rai-directed movie Raksha Bandhan, starring Bhumi Pednekar, is currently being promoted by bollywood actor Akshay Kumar. On august 11, the movie will be released in theatres. One crore rupees have already been raised for the movie through advance sales. According to a Sacnilk.com report, Akshay Kumar's movie, which will compete with Laal Singh Chaddha starring aamir khan and Kareena Kapoor, has taken in $1.03 million, including block seats. For the hindi movie, 7315 tickets have been sold.

Speaking to PTI, Akshay said that because to the pandemic, box office conflicts are now unavoidable. He used Laal Singh Chaddha as an example. He stated: "Conflicts at the box office will occur as a result of COVID-19. There are many films that have previously been finished but were unable to be released. You can no longer avoid it. Both films should perform well at the box office, in my opinion."

This is not the first time that Kumar has had a film conflict with another major release; examples include Welcome and Taare Zameen Par, Blue and All The Best, Action Replay and Golmaal 3, and gold and Satyameva Jayate. Akshay went on to express his opinions on bollywood movies by saying, "It isn't just about "Raksha Bandhan," it's about all movies. I want every single movie made in this business to succeed. The film industry needs its movies to be successful in order to continue producing movies, especially major movies." As a result of the failures of Bachchhan Paandey and Samrat Prithviraj, Akshay had a lacklustre year at the box office. Raksha Bandhan will therefore be a significant movie for Kumar as well.
