Music composer-singer Harshit Saxena has got married. He married actress Samonika Srivastava in an intimate ceremony last month. Now a month later, the singer has revealed his marriage and has spoken openly about it. In a conversation with Hindustan Times, singer Harshit Saxena said about his relationship with Samonika Srivastava, “Samonika and I met in Mumbai. We were acquaintances, but our parents thought we made a good match. His mother reached out to us and that's how things became formal. It is an arranged marriage
The wedding took place on february 9 at a five-star hotel in the bride's hometown Raigarh (Chhattisgarh). The 'Haal-e-Dil' ('Murder 2' 2011) singer said, “It was a three-day affair. We got engaged two days before our wedding. This was followed by Haldi and Mehendi ceremonies. Only our close friends and family members were present." Lyricist sameer Anjan attended their wedding, says Saxena. He said, “Sameer ji is like family. He and his family were a part of every function."
When asked why did he keep the news of the wedding a secret? To this, the musician said, "I had a very busy work and travel schedule. Right after marriage, I started having live shows one after the other. I hope my work commitments reduce so that we can move to Mumbai." I might even host a reception for my friends in my hometown lucknow (Uttar Pradesh).”
Talking about the couple's wedding outfit, singer Harshit Saxena wore a pink sherwani with heavy embroidery. Along with this, he complemented his look with a white colored turban. At the same time, his bride Samonika chose a white lehenga and pinned a pink dupatta on her head. She completed her look with a maang tikka, heavy necklace, nath, and earrings.
