Umar Ali (36), son of Abdul Samad, hails from Nellikuppam Pudu Street, Cuddalore District. His wife is Parhat Nisha. They have 2 children. For the past 12 years, volunteer Umar ali has been engaged in snake trapping in Nellikuppam and Panruti along with forest and fire department personnel. In this case, yesterday in Panrutti Muthiya city, firemen caught a good snake and brought it to Panrutti fire station. Knowing about this, Umar ali went to the fire station to take the snake to the forest. It is said that he then tried to transfer the snake kept in a container to another container.

Unexpectedly, the snake bit Umar Ali. Shocked to see this, the firemen immediately rescued him and took him to Panruti government Hospital for treatment. There he was given first aid treatment and later sent to Cuddalore government Hospital for further treatment. But Umar ali tragically died on the way to the hospital. Panruti police have registered a case and are investigating in this regard. The incident of snakebite death of a snake catcher has caused grief among the people of the area
