New delhi sources made a statement that the government on Monday criticized pakistan for unilaterally stopping postal mail service between the two nations, saying the move was in contravention of international norms. Meanwhile Union Minister ravi shankar prasad said pakistan took the decision without giving any notice to India. Furthermore Pakistan's decision is directly in contravention of international postal union norms, but pakistan is pakistan," said Prasad, who is the Minister for Communications and Information technology, on the sidelines of an event in Delhi.
Perhaps the minister said pakistan "without any prior notice or information has stopped sending postal department's letters to India". The minister said "There is a world postal union system and everyone operates under that. pakistan has stopped it for the last two months. So when pakistan has stopped this, our postal department has thought of this action now that pakistan has stopped India's letters, that is why there is this action". Moreover tension between india and pakistan have been simmering and spiked after New delhi scrapped provisions of Article 370 of the Constitution to withdraw Jammu and Kashmir's special status and bifurcated it into two Union Territories.
