* New Complaint Filed
Yash’s upcoming film Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups has landed in fresh controversy ahead of its scheduled Eid release on march 19.
A Christian organisation has formally objected to the film’s teaser, alleging that it hurts religious sentiments.
The complaint adds to earlier criticism already surrounding the film’s promotional content.
* Who Filed the Objection
The National Christian Federation (NCF) has filed an official complaint.
Complaints were submitted to multiple authorities, including the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
The Film Chamber of Commerce and the state government’s Chief Secretary and home Secretary were also approached.
* Scenes Under Fire
The objection focuses on teaser visuals featuring Archangel Michael imagery.
NCF claims the portrayal is inappropriate and insulting to Christian beliefs.
The teaser reportedly shows an intimate scene inside a car parked near a cemetery.
This is followed by a violent shootout sequence in the same cemetery setting.
Visible religious symbols and a statue of Archangel Michael appear in the background.
* Demands by the Organisation
The group has demanded the immediate removal of the disputed scenes.
It has also asked the makers to take down the teaser and related promotional material from online platforms.
Authorities have been urged to review the content before certification or release.
* Earlier Backlash
The film’s teaser was previously criticised by the Women’s Commission.
A complaint claimed that certain scenes outraged the modesty of women.
The controversy intensified on social media after teaser clips circulated widely.
Actress Beatriz Taufenbach, who appeared in the teaser, later deleted her instagram account following online backlash.
