After weeks of intense in-fighting , the BJP& TDP electoral alliance finally hit the campaign yesterday with TDP president Chandrababu Naidu appealing voters to make the BJP leader Narendra Modi the next Prime Minister of the country.
Modi also appealed to the electorate to bring the alliance to power in AP and the NDA at the Centre. In what was reminding of NTR’s Telugu pride slogan, Modi also invoked Telugu pride and spoke of how the Nehru-Gandhi family had treated Telugu leaders like Anjaiah, Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy and P V Narasimha Rao with ‘contempt’.
Modi said that Narasimha Rao was a good PM but even as there are scores of schemes named after the Nehru-Gandhi family, why not even one has been named after Narasimha Rao. He asked Congress as to what enmity does the Gandhi-Nehru family share towards the Telugu people!
He described ‘Telugu Pride’ as the mother which the Congress killed and left behind two orphans i.e. Telangana and Seemandhra and assured that the NDA government will ensure the well-being of both the states.
