Telangana's new secretariat, a colossal "Vaastu-compliant" structure that was the CM's personal initiative, was opened on sunday in hyderabad by K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), the state's chief minister. The new secretariat, which is located in the center of hyderabad close to Hussain Sagar Lake, contains bulletproof windows in KCR's office, a regal dining room, and an exclusive sky lounge with glass walls that provide a bird's-eye view of the city, including the famous Nizam-era water body.

The secretariat, which has aspects of Indo-Saracenic or Neo-Mughal architecture, bears the name of BR Ambedkar, whose 125-foot bronze statue is located close by and which kcr inaugurated on the latter's 132nd birthday celebration earlier this month. The cm chose the time between 1.20 and 1.40 pm on sunday to enter his chamber in the secretariat, which was inaugurated amid rites and yagnas with priests chanting mantras. The cm is well known for being fastidious about adhering to "auspicious timings."

As the chief minister sat in his office chair, the priests recited mantras. And one of the first documents he signed in the new secretariat was the implementation of his Dalit Bandhu scheme for 2023–2024, which would provide eligible Dalit households with aid of Rs 10 lakh. The Chief Minister's office (CMO) is located on the top floor of the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar telangana State secretariat, which has eight floors (lower ground, ground floor plus six). The sky lounge is located above the CMO.

"The massive building features 30 meeting rooms, 635 rooms, and 24 lifts. The structure has a total parking space capacity of 564 cars across 2.25 acres. The center's building is located on a total of 27.9 acres, according to a statement from the CMO on Saturday. In addition, it stated that Gujarati and telangana temples and Kakatiya architecture served as design inspiration for the structure.

The CMO reported that "Rs 550 crore had been spent on the building so far" and "the cost had risen 30%" than what was first predicted, but a state engineering department official informed ThePrint that the "project cost about Rs 1,000 crore." Speaking of the structure, the source continued, "The chief minister's visitors (mainly foreign delegates and government officials) would be hosted in the sky lounge, which would provide them with a bird's-eye view over the city. The cabinet chamber, where the cm will meet with ministers, is located on the sixth level and includes bullet-proof windows.

The dining area in the new structure, which has 22 seats, is another major draw. It has interiors that are white and golden, a sparkling tiled floor, chandeliers, and a big wooden dining table in the centre. KCR's picture is hung on one of the walls.
