A Carnatic vocal performance by Vidwan Sri sriram JS was presented on the second day of the 64th foundation day celebrations of the South indian Cultural Association (SICA). Komanduri Venkata krishna played the violin, Mridangam Rama krishna played the mridangam, and Sri Marturu haribabu played the marturu.

Varnam "Kanakangi Neeche" in Thodi raga and "Parameswara Jagadeeswara," a Deekshitar composition in Nata with terse Alapana and rapid Swarakalpana, were performed by Sri sriram to open the concert. His second selection was likewise a kannada ragam Deekshitar Kruthi song, "Sri Matrubhutam," with misrachapu talam. The event was completed by a Javali "Enthati kuluke" in the kalyani ragam by Sriram.


When presenting awards to the performers, CV Rao, assistant general manager of the punjab National bank Hyderabad Zonal Office, commended SICA for its work in promoting the performing arts.
