Vishakapatnam, one of the key cities in Andhra Pradesh doesn’t have any local politicians who are strong? Well this seems to be the question haunting everyone these days. Vishakapatnam has always entertained outsiders for the last 3 decades.

This trend has begun right from the times of TDP when it imported MVSN Murthy from Rajahmundry. Then Congress took over by inviting Subbarami Reddy, Nedurumalli Janardhan Reddy and others. Even BJP followed suit. This discussion is being highlighted again with the war of words between Daggubati Venkateshwar Rao and T. Subbarami Reddy. Both are outsiders but are fighting over Vizag as if it is their granddad’s property.

Even neighboring Anakapalli constituency fares no better with outsiders calling the shots. Political analysts say that these outsiders come and get elected from Vizag but after elections they are not bothered about the city’s development.  Analysts say that the day is not far when the people who get vexed with needless outside domination, revolt against them the way Telangana folks are doing.
