After the state division has taken place, one of the major crises existing in both the states of Andhrapradesh and Telangana is the Electricity problem. As known, the same was already a major issue even in the united state and now, as the state is become two states and the issue is slowly turned out into a dispute amongst both the states.
Now, both the states are looking into the alternatives to generate more power in order to supply not just for the households, but also the existing and upcoming industries. In this connection, Telangana government and Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) have convened a preliminary meeting of solar power producers before issuing tenders for the proposed 1,000 megawatt solar power plant at Mahboobnagar.
As per the information coming in, 20 potential bidders have met SECI chairman Rajendra Nimje and director Ashwini Kumar and APIIC vice-chairman Jayesh Ranjan on the Saturday, 5th of July. Narendra Surana, the president of Solar Power Producers Association of India and the managing director of Surana Ventures, told that many of the companies were eager to participate in the tender for the solar power project.
Tata Solar, Surana Ventures, Emvee Solar, Waree Energy, Photon Energy, and Welspun Energy were among the companies that were a part of the bidders who today met SECI. The infrastructure for the project, which is going to be the largest solar power park in India is already in place as per Mr Surana and the power could be evacuated in just six months after its project’s commencement.
Apart from the 1,000-MW project, Mr Surana said the Solar Power Producers Association has requested the Telangana government to set up smaller 200-MW solar power project in all 10 districts, which could put to use barren land in the state and help the government to tide over the power crisis in the state. Need to see what measures would now be initiated from Chandrababu and TDP Government for the state of Andhrapradesh.
