Egypt imports indian wheat..! So many lakh tonnes..?

Egypt has reportedly agreed to import 1,80,000 tonnes of wheat from India. However, this is said to be less than the previously agreed volume.
But Egypt's wheat imports were disrupted by Russia's invasion of Ukraine. In addition, the cost of imports has been reported to be many times higher. More than 70 million of Egypt's 103 million people eat wheat bread, relying solely on imported wheat. In this context, Egyptian Food minister Ali Moselhi said last May that india had agreed to import 5 lakh tonnes of wheat. But in the same month, india imposed a ban on wheat exports, forcing egypt to import wheat from other countries. In this context, minister Ali Moselhi said that they have an agreement with india to import 5 lakh tonnes. But at present, they have an agreement with india to import only 1,80,000 tonnes. He said that they are in talks with india to import more. Minister Ali Moselhi said that they are advising the public to add potatoes to wheat flour to reduce the demand for wheat and they are consulting on the technology in this regard. It is noteworthy that egypt imports 3.9 million tonnes of wheat from local farmers but imports from abroad due to a shortage of wheat.
