Case of threatening the judge
The non-bailable arrest warrant issued against imran khan for allegedly threatening a female judge while speaking at a public gathering last year was stayed by a Pakistani court until march 16. On monday, the former prime minister was the subject of an arrest order from the district and Sessions court of Islamabad. Imran, the leader of the pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, was arrested for his comments made at a gathering in august of last year. Top police officers and Additional district and Sessions Judge Jeba Chowdhary had received a dire warning from imran khan for their "biased" views of his party. Khan's attorney stated during the hearing on monday that the PTI leader was prepared to participate in the court procedures via video link.
However, Judge Rana Mujahid Rahim rejected his application and directed the police to arrest Imran and produce him in the court by march 29. imran khan later challenged the warrant in the district court, where Additional Sessions Judge Faizan Haider Geelani, in his order, noted that Khan's counsel has argued that "the petitioner should not appear before the trial court due to threat to life". After this, the judge stayed the warrant till march 16 and the next hearing of the case would be held on the same day.
