Abhishek's stronghold in ISF left..!?
In the Muslim belt of Murshidabad, Malda, South 24 Pargana, and Uttar Dinajpur, the party did not get the results as expected. In the politics of bhadralok, the discussion of getting away from the motherhood of Muslims has started. In South 24 Parganas, the newly formed indian Secular Front has succeeded in infiltrating the Muslim voters of Trinamool on a large scale. At the same time, the congress and the Left have made a comeback in Malda, Uttar Dinajpur, and Murshidabad. In the 2021 assembly elections, the trinamool congress had a one-sided victory in all these districts.
Muslims make up about 27 percent of the population in West bengal and make up the balance of 7 seats in the Lok Sabha. According to experts, if this trend continues in bengal during the lok sabha elections, then Trinamool Congress's troubles will increase. trinamool congress has set a target of winning 35-plus seats this time. Mamta's nephew abhishek is traveling across the state and meeting people. However, the ISF's raids in Trinamool's stronghold South 24 Pargana have raised many questions about their visit and strategy. In West bengal, Muslims are considered to be the core voter of the Congress. Even during CPM rule, congress was in a strong position in Murshidabad, Malda, and Uttar Dinajpur. Trinamool and congress alliance came to power in 2011 after CPM.
In 2013, mamata and congress parted ways in Bengal. In the 2016 assembly elections, congress became the second largest party through its Muslim vote bank, after which mamata started betting-screw politics. mamta made several bets to help Muslims, which worked. In the 2019 and 2021 elections, Muslims overwhelmingly voted in favor of Trinamool. In 2021, Trinamool won big in Murshidabad, Uttar Dinajpur, Birbhum, and South 24 Parganas, but only after 2 years, Muslims started distancing themselves from Mamata.
Earlier Trinamool's candidate lost badly in the Sagardighi by-election and now Trinamool has suffered a loss in many places in the panchayat election, which has given more strength to these speculations. The whole situation changed in the panchayat election which took place 2 years after the assembly election. 6883 Gram panchayat seats were polled here, of which Trinamool won only 3440 seats. Congress-Left won 260 seats and others including indian Secular Front won 300 seats.
The indian Secular Front won 23 of the 24 seats in the Muslim-majority Bhangarwa. Most of the violence during the election also happened in South 24 Pargana. On the day of the result, 3 workers of the Secular Front were killed in the violence. The Muslim population in Uttar Dinajpur is around 49 percent. It won 7 out of 9 seats in the 2021 assembly elections. bjp won 2 seats. After the victory, Ghulam Rabbani from North Dinajpur was included in the cabinet and made minister of Minority Welfare.
However, even here Trinamool suffered a setback in the panchayat elections. In Uttar Dinajpur, around 2220 Gram panchayat seats were voted in, in which Trinamool won only 990 seats. bjp is the second number party here and managed to win 380 seats in Hindu areas.
The congress and Left alliance has made a comeback here. 290 candidates of both have registered victory. 130 other candidates won, most of them from the indian Secular Front. That is, even here Trinamool has suffered losses in Muslim areas.
