The meghalaya Chief Minister's office was attacked by a mob on Monday. Five security personnel have been injured in this attack. chief minister Konrad Sangma is present in the cm office. A huge crowd has surrounded the cm office from all sides. However, the chief minister is said to be safe. The five injured security personnel are being treated inside the cm office. The situation worsened in the evening when hundreds of protestors who arrived suddenly started pelting stones. The ruckus continued till late night. The protesters had set several vehicles on fire. The police also lathicharged. Curfew has been imposed in Tura.
In fact, Garo Hills-based civil society groups are on hunger strike demanding a winter capital in Tura. On monday evening, the protesters had reached for talks with the Chief Minister. Sangma was having a conversation when suddenly a large number of agitators gathered near the Chief Minister's office and started pelting stones. In the sudden stone pelting, several security personnel deployed for the security of the Chief Minister's office were injured. The injured security personnel have been made to lie inside the office and first aid is being given there.On the other hand, a large number of protesters have surrounded the Chief Minister's office from all sides. There is no commuting from the office.

The Chief Minister's office has issued a statement saying that chief minister Konrad Sangma is completely safe. First aid has been provided to the injured here. The chief minister himself is engaged in taking care of them. The chief minister is unable to leave the office as the protesters have blocked the approach road. The CMO said that the situation is under control but tense.
