In the early hours of Thursday, the police were able to rescue a party of 80 visitors who were stuck close to the Mutyaladhara waterfalls in the venkatapuram (Nugur) Mandal of the district.  From Khammam, Hanumakonda, Karimnagar, and Warangal, the visitors set out on an exciting trek to see the waterfall. But when they became caught on the way back owing to the stream's unexpected rush, their adventure transformed into a suspenseful tale of survival.

The trapped visitors became worried as darkness fell. When they dialled 911, they were connected to Superintendent of police (SP) Gaush Alam. Alam immediately notified the district disaster response force (DRF), the national disaster response force (NDRF), and the neighbourhood police in response to the call.

To save the visitors, a team of 50 officers from the DRF, NDRF, and the police risked the night and the rising water. All 80 visitors were finally found and rescued after a night of searching the region. The event didn't result in any injuries. One individual did, however, need medical treatment. Food and medical attention were given to the visitors who had been saved.

The efforts of SP Alam, Eturnagaram ASP Sirishetty Sankeerth, venkatapuram CI Kumar, SI Koppula tirupati Rao, and the Disaster Response Force and NDRF forces were instrumental in the mission's success. The SP has strongly advised the general people against entering restricted areas when it is raining heavily. He cautioned everyone, as a precaution, to stay inside their houses during such inclement weather unless absolutely essential.
