The Directorate General of Trade (DGFT) issued a notification late on friday night ordering that the notification on thursday 3 august will be effective from 1 November. The order states that the banned imports are being exempted till 31st october 2023. Consignments of these products can be imported without a license in these three months. This ban will be enforced from november 1, 2023. After this, a license will be required for importation.'
The order states that 'Import of laptops, tablets, all-in-one personal computers, ultra-small form factor computers, and servers is exempted till october 31, 2023.' The government's order will provide relief to those companies who were worried after Thursday's order.
