Mission 2024: Why is bjp eyeing these seats of tamil Nadu Lok Sabha?

The bharatiya janata party, engaged in Mission 2024, has increased the focus on tamil Nadu. home minister amit shah himself has taken over the command of tamil Nadu on behalf of the BJP. Shah has visited tamil Nadu in june and July. Shah has given bjp leaders a target of winning 25 seats, but the party wants to win 7 seats in the state.

BJP's state president annamalai himself is increasing the party's base in these seats by taking out a padyatra. annamalai is directly attacking the ministers of AIADMK and DMK during the padayatra. The party is trying to get a hold on these seats independently.

On July 28, annamalai took out a padayatra named En Mana, EnMakkal (My land, my people). amit shah had flagged off this padayatra. If BJP's mission is successful, there can be a big upheaval in the politics of Dravid Nadu.

Why is bjp eyeing tamil Nadu?

bjp has a strong mass base only in karnataka out of 5 in South India. However, this time the party lost there too. In the 2024 elections, the bjp is also afraid of reducing the lok sabha seats from Karnataka.

In 2019, the bjp had won around 30 lok sabha seats from South India, of which karnataka alone had won 25 seats. bjp wants to maintain this record this time also. That's why focusing on tamil Nadu.

After the demise of Jayalalithaa, the opposition in tamil Nadu has become completely weak. AIADMK has split into 2 parts. The leaders of both the factions do not have any strong support base of their own. This is an easy opportunity for bjp to establish its roots. bjp has an alliance with Jayalalithaa's party.
