Congress leader rahul gandhi has been allotted the old government bungalow on tuesday (August 8), a day after his lok sabha membership was restored. The Housing Committee has given him back the bungalow which was taken by 12 Tughlaqs of Delhi. On getting the bungalow, he said, "My home is the whole of India."
The supreme court had on friday (August 4) stayed his conviction in the defamation case related to the Modi surname. After this, the lok sabha membership of former congress President rahul gandhi was restored. After this he got the bungalow again.
Why was the bungalow taken from rahul Gandhi?
On march 23, a court in Surat, Gujarat, sentenced rahul gandhi to two years in the Modi surname case. After this, the lok sabha secretariat canceled his lok sabha membership. Then he was given a notice to vacate the government bungalow. rahul gandhi reached the high court in the defamation case but he did not get relief here.
