In view of the challenges coming from china and pakistan, the indian air Force has deployed Heron Mark 2 drones at the forward air base in the northern region. Forward air bases are those air bases that are built very close to the border. The main task of Heron Mark-2 drone is to keep an eye on every movement of china and Pakistan. It can also conduct airstrikes if needed. The air Force has deployed four new Heron Mark-2 drones at its forward air bases. This drone can monitor the border between china and pakistan in a single flight. This drone is equipped with long-range and other weapon systems.

The Heron Mark-2 drone has the ability to communicate via satellite. It can fly continuously for up to 36 hours. It can monitor a very large area. It is also useful for drone target detection. In the state of war, this drone can be lasered on the target from far away. With its help, fighter jets can fire missiles targeting that target from a distance. The border area will be monitored 24x7 with the help of this drone. It can also be flown in bad weather. The drone can be armed with air-to-air missiles, anti-tank missiles and bombs as needed.

Indian air Force is also working on Project Cheetah. It will upgrade around 70 Heron drones of the indian Armed Forces. This will enable them to communicate through satellite. Along with this they will also be equipped with weapons. 31 Predator drones are also going to be delivered to the indian Armed Forces in the coming days. These drones are currently helping the Navy cover large areas of the indian Ocean region. Of the 31 Predator drones being procured, 15 will be operated by the Navy. The remaining drones will be used by the air Force and the Army.
