As Larsen & Toubro (L&T) wins the bid for the project's design and construction, the hyderabad airport Express metro line, a vital addition to the city's transport system, is about to get underway. L&T, well-known for its participation to the 72-km hyderabad Metro rail Project, stands as the front-runner for the new endeavour following the opening of all tenders received for the project.

The airport metro project, which runs 31 km and connects Raidurg to rajiv gandhi International airport, has drawn attention from numerous illustrious businesses. The expert review of the submitted bids revealed that L&T's offer was the most competitive and appropriate for carrying out the project.

The planned project includes building 293 km of elevated track and a further 1.7 km of underground track, both of which will be placed strategically close to the airport terminal. One of the project's attractions is the intention to build an underground metro station, which will improve passenger convenience and connectivity even more.

The project includes the construction of nine metro stations and related infrastructure, with a total projected investment of about Rs 5,688 crore. The groundwork for the project's execution is anticipated to begin in september once the financial components are in place and the bidding procedure is complete.

This ambitious project is positioned to meet the rising demand for quick and effective transport to and from the airport, a key city entrance. It is anticipated that the building phase will take place over a period of 36 months, with the end result being an improved public transport system that will considerably benefit Hyderabad's residents and contribute to the city's changing urban scene.
