Municipal Administration and Urban Development minister KT Rama Rao emphasised the openness in the distribution of two-bedroom homes in the State, noting that programme participants included leaders of the bharatiya janata party (BJP) and the Congress.

The minister claimed that the telangana government's Dignity Housing plan was the largest slum redevelopment programme for any city in the nation and challenged the opposition parties to present examples of government dwellings in any State that were comparable to those being built by the telangana government.


According to him, 10,000 double-bedroom homes were built in Greater hyderabad at a cost of Rs. 9,718 crore, and their market value would be between Rs. 50,000 and Rs. 60,000 crore. The minister urged applicants not to pay money to anyone and stated that houses were being allocated to everyone, including those from opposing parties.


According to the minister, there were 3.5 lakh applications for one million homes. The telangana government pledged to provide homes for all qualified candidates. He claimed that only under the direction of chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was justice being served to the underprivileged. Additionally, he said that in the previous nine years, the telangana government had upgraded power, water, and road infrastructure, kept peace and order under control, and attracted investors.

Despite the Covid pandemic's negative economic effects, the Rythu Bandhu scheme disbursed Rs. 73,000 crore and twice waived farm loans. He said that by introducing the ground-breaking Dalit Bandhu initiative, a national precedent for Dalit empowerment was formed.
