The telangana government on sunday announced the creation of the Employee health Care Trust (EHCT) in a significant move intended to execute a cashless health insurance program for government employees, their families, and pensioners who are covered under the Employees health Program (EHS). Employees and pensioners will each make a monthly contribution to the EHCT that will be taken from their pay or pensions.

Employees and pensioners will each make a monthly contribution to the EHCT that will be taken from their pay or pensions.  Each month, the telangana government will also provide the Trust with a matching donation in an equal amount. The telangana State government will soon designate a CEO for EHS after receiving suggestions on policy issues from the Board of Trustees of EHCT. The New Employees' health Scheme will be implemented in accordance with specific instructions that will be released separately.

The telangana government introduced the Employee health Care Trust (EHCT) soon before the dasara celebration, marking a significant stride towards the wellbeing of its workforce. This programme intends to offer high-quality, cashless medical care to workers, retirees, and their families. The first Pay Revision Commission's suggestion for a tailored health plan for employees and pensioners served as the inspiration for this effort. A dedicated trust was suggested to realise this ambition, with government money matching employee and pensioner payments. In support of this effort, employee unions gladly pledged to donate 1% of their base pay.
