Hyderabad recorded a low temperature of 17.7 degrees Celsius (°C) on Thursday, marking the official start of winter. Northeasterly winds have caused a drop in the mercury, along with colder mornings and evenings.

The india Meteorological Department (IMD) meteorologist M. Mukanda Rao stated: "There's a chill since the predominant winds come from the northeast. The temperature was 17.7°C on Thursday. The cold that has been plaguing the city and its environs for the last four days suggests that winter has arrived this year."

He stated, "In the first week of November, there will be a slight rise in the temperatures, after which it will gradually slip into winter." The residents were ecstatic because they had taken out their comforters, blankets, and winter clothing from storage. It's already been seen that truck drivers, night watchmen, and morning runners start bonfires to stay warm.

Those who reside within the sprawling 1,600-acre campus of osmania university have probably seen the coldest temperatures.

OU registrar Laxmi Narayana stated, "We have begun to feel the chill in the mornings because my apartment is on campus. Additionally, throughout the last four days, we have seen that winter-migrating birds are coming to the open spaces close to my home."

He said, "During the lockdown, the hmda planted several plants, which have now grown, adding more greenery to the campus."

Alwal resident Joy Shirleen Tatapude stated: "Winter has a particular position as it brings with it a number of festivities and campfire meals. The greatest location for enjoyable winter activities is Hyderabad."

Another resident, Rizwan Shaikh, stated: "The winter season is filled with celebrations, beginning with diwali and continuing through Christmas, New Year's, and Sankranti." Wearing traditional indian clothing like kurtas, crop jackets, and bundis is a terrific look right now. Scarves and shawls, particularly the Jamdani kind, can also be used by people to conceal themselves."

"In the Western style, one can wear jackets, waistcoats, fur, and a fusion of warm clothes to bring out new style," designer Shaikh said. Young ladies can dress in cosy wraps and crop tops with shrugs. Woollen sweaters look great with saris."
