As per report cyclone Michaung has wreaked havoc across chennai and its neighboring districts in the past few days, causing airports and subways to shut down as the city is half submerged in rain waters. The cyclone triggered heavy rainfall in tamil Nadu and Puducherry. So far, at least 17 people have died in rain-related incidents in chennai, while property worth crores has been damaged. However, the rain has subsided in chennai and flight and train operations are back on track with rescue operations underway in several parts of the city.

Meanwhile, the india Meteorological Department (IMD) on tuesday said the landfall process of Cyclone Michuang is completed while southern districts of odisha and eastern telangana continue to be on alert. At least 17 people lost their lives in various rain-related incidents in chennai due to Cyclone Michaung. The indian Air Force (IAF) Chetak helicopters have been deployed for flood relief operations in Chennai.

The chennai airport runway was flooded as no flights were available till 9 am on tuesday, causing chaos and inconvenience to passengers. tamil Nadu government said that their main focus is to bring back the 80% of power supply and 70% of mobile networks have already been restored. Several district Disaster Response Teams (DDRT) were formed to carry out relief work in all rain-affected areas across Chennai.
