
On Thursday, the first day of the winter session of the maharashtra Assembly, the opposition demonstrated at the
Vidhan Bhavan here demanding farm loan waiver, bonus on paddy crop and higher minimum support price (MSP)
for cotton and soybean. Senior leaders of maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), including shiv sena (UBT), Sharad Pawar-

raised slogans against the government.
Issues related to farmers remained dominant
He demanded immediate relief to farmers in the form of loan waiver, bonus of Rs 1,000 on paddy crop and MSP
of Rs 14,000 and Rs 18,000 for cotton and soybean respectively. The winter session of maharashtra Assembly is
likely to run from december 7 to december 20. leader of opposition in the Assembly, Vijay Wadettiwar, while
talking to reporters, said that farmers have been hit by unseasonal rains while lakhs of farmers are not getting
proper MSP for cotton and soybean. Wadettiwar said, “The government is only doing ‘Panchnama’ (survey) and
announcements. We want funds in the accounts of farmers and not announcements.

Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council Ambadas Danve, State congress President Nana Patole, ncp leaders
Jayant Patil and Anil Deshmukh and congress leaders ashok chavan and balasaheb thorat and other MVA
leaders also participated in the protest. Danve said that due to unseasonal rain and hailstorm, farmers have been
seriously affected. He demanded loan waiver for farmers. Meanwhile, Kasba Peth mla and congress leader
Ravindra Dhangekar demanded action against ministers having links with drug smuggler Lalit Patil. He also
demanded the arrest of sanjeev Thakur, former dean of Sassoon Hospital, Pune.
