West bengal Chief minister mamata banerjee on wednesday (24 January) shocked the congress and the opposition alliance 'India' and said that the trinamool congress (TMC) will contest the lok sabha elections alone in the state. Meanwhile, on thursday (January 25), TMC gave the reason for not sharing seats with congress in Bengal.

TMC leader Derek O'Brien blamed State congress President Adhir Ranjan Choudhary for the lack of alliance between congress and his party in West Bengal. O'Brien said, “There are three reasons behind the alliance not working in Bengal. Adhir Ranjan Choudhary, Adhir Ranjan Choudhary and Adhir Ranjan Choudhary. He further said, “There were many critics of the indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (India), but only two – bjp and adhir ranjan chowdhury have repeatedly given statements against the alliance.”

What did Derek O'Brien say?

O'Brien said, “In the last two years, Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary has been speaking the language of BJP. He did not even once raise the issue of bengal being deprived of central funds. He further said, "When ED took action against TMC in bengal, he also supported them." In fact, there has been regular exchange of words between TMC and congress leader Adhir Ranjan Choudhary on various issues. Recently, TMC Chief mamata banerjee had said that if we are not given proper importance in the alliance, then we will contest elections on all 42 seats of Bengal. Regarding this statement of Banerjee, congress leader rahul gandhi had given a measured reaction and said that small talk keeps happening in the alliance, but Adhir Ranjan Choudhary had said that let her (Mamata Banerjee) speak.

mamata banerjee said on wednesday that I had given them (Congress) a proposal on seat sharing, but they rejected it in the beginning. Our party has now decided to contest elections alone in Bengal.
