Triangular contest between AIMIM, shiv sena and Shinde faction?

In the fourth phase of maharashtra lok sabha elections, voting will be held in aurangabad constituency on 13 May. After the withdrawal of nominations in aurangabad lok sabha constituency on monday (April 29), a total of 37 candidates are now in the fray. There is a triangular contest here between shiv sena, shiv sena (UBT) and AIMIM. An election official said on monday that 44 candidates had submitted their nominations from this seat, but on the last day of withdrawal of nominations, seven candidates withdrew their nominations.

The main contest here is between shiv sena headed by chief minister Eknath Shinde, uddhav Thackeray's shiv sena (UBT) and All india Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM). Shinde faction has fielded maharashtra minister Sandipan Bhumre, while shiv sena (UBT) has re-fielded former mp Chandrakant Khaire and AIMIM has re-fielded sitting mp Imtiaz Jaleel.

At the same time, Prakash Ambedkar-led Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi, which contested the elections in alliance with AIMIM in 2019, is contesting the elections separately this time. Former congress councilor Sanjay Jagtap is contesting the elections on BSP ticket. Former mla Harshvardhan Jadhav, who had secured 2.5 lakh votes as an independent candidate in the last elections, is also in the fray.

AIMIM had won in the last elections

Let us tell you that the undivided shiv sena has won the aurangabad seat six times since 1989. But, the party founded by bal thackeray five years ago suffered a setback when its experienced leader Chandrakant Khaire was defeated by AIMIM's Imtiaz jaleel by a margin of less than 4,500 votes. Let us tell you that the name of aurangabad district has been changed to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, but in the records of the election Commission, the name of the lok sabha seat is Aurangabad. It comes in Marathwada region.
