Delhi Pradesh congress Committee President Devendra Yadav has made serious allegations against delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta of wasting the government treasury and extravagance. He said that the bjp government is also not behind in wasting the public money like the Aam Aadmi Party.
Devendra Yadav said that chief minister Rekha Gupta had claimed in her first assembly session that she would not waste money and would use every penny of the public properly. But after coming to power, her government spent Rs 8,42,787 in the name of holi Milan Samaroh in just one month. Information sought from the assembly secretariat by the RTI cell of congress revealed that a large amount of government money was spent on the holi Milan Samaroh. While Rs 91,313 was spent in 2022 and Rs 1,16,842 in 2023, this expenditure suddenly increased manifold in 2024.
'Rs 7,500 were spent on colours and gulal'
Devendra Yadav said that the secretariat informed that Rs 4,22,500 were spent on refreshments and Rs 7,500 were spent on colours and gulal. But the secretariat expressed its inability to give information about where and how the remaining nearly Rs 4 lakh was spent. He raised the question whether this amount has fallen prey to corruption? He said that even the smallest and the biggest events are not untouched by corruption under the bjp rule.
'The people of delhi know everything'
Devendra Yadav sarcastically said that the BJP's 'triple engine' government in delhi, along with the Center, delhi government and Municipal Corporation, the Lieutenant governor is also working like the fourth engine. Are all of them together planning to loot the capital from all sides? He said that in 1993, three chief ministers were changed in the bjp government and now how the mayor was appointed in the Municipal Corporation, the people of delhi know all this. In the end, Devendra Yadav appealed to the people to keep an eye on these cases of wasteful expenditure and corruption and recognize the real face of BJP.
