26 people lost their lives in the terrorist attack in pahalgam on 22 April. After 15 days, on 6 May, india ended terrorism by airstrikes on nine terrorist bases in pakistan and PoK. After this, pakistan attacked India. At that time, there were war-like situations amid tension. In such a situation, by doing a blackout in the cities, common people were trained to avoid war. Now the question here is that when missiles can find the target even in the dark of night, then why is a blackout done.

What is a blackout?

Blackout is a security process, when there is a threat of fighter jet or drone attack from the enemy country, then all the lights of the city are switched off. Even the lights of the house, the lights of the vehicles are also switched off. At the same time, complete darkness is created in the sensitive areas. Its only purpose is that the enemy should not be able to see the drone, light or anything else, so that he cannot bomb or attack.

What is done during blackout?

During blackout, every city and every place is saved from enemy occupation. During this, the lights of houses, shops, offices are turned off. vehicles are stopped and their engines and headlights are also turned off. Apart from emergency, all vehicles are stopped and windows are covered with black curtains. people are advised to stay in their homes and are alerted by sounding sirens. police and army patrolling increases and goes on high alert mode.

When the enemy can see even in the dark with the help of GPS and satellite, then what is the need for blackout?

When the lights are turned off during blackout, it becomes a bit difficult for the enemy's video cameras and other surveillance equipment and infrared sensors to identify the target. Even though accurate information is obtained from GPS, but due to darkness, identification is not done properly. Satellites can provide data to some extent, but in the dark the signals become limited and weak. Due to which the enemy gains less.
