jharkhand Mukti Morcha has clarified that it can contest the bihar assembly elections as an independent political party apart from the india Alliance. Party's central general secretary and spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya, while talking to the media at the party office on monday (June 16, 2025), said that we have our own organization in bihar and we are ready to contest on our own.
In fact, india Alliance had recently organized two meetings regarding the preparations for the bihar assembly elections and the distribution of seats, but jharkhand Mukti Morcha did not receive any invitation for this. On the question of the media in this regard, the General Secretary of JMM said, "If they are not calling us, then we are not going to enter there forcefully. We have an independent identity and it is certain that we will show our strength there." 'We kept their only MLA…'
Bhattacharya further said, "We want to tell congress and RJD that we kept them with us in jharkhand and gave them due respect. In the last assembly elections, RJD had won only one seat in jharkhand, but we kept their only mla in the cabinet for full five years. This is because we had entered the election field together and we were fully aware of coalition dharma. congress and RJD should show the same coalition dharma in Bihar."
Let us tell you that jharkhand Mukti Morcha has been fielding its candidates in bihar assembly elections even before this. In 2010, JMM candidate had won the Chakai assembly seat. This time the party has identified 12 assembly seats in bihar adjacent to jharkhand, where it has influence. These seats include Tarapur, Katoria, Manihari, Jhajha, Banka, Thakurganj, Rupauli, Rampur, Banmankhi, Jamalpur, Pirpainti and Chakai.
The party believes that there is a significant population of tribal community in these areas, its policies in tribal interest and the work done in jharkhand can attract voters in these areas. JMM has already started meetings with local leaders and workers in these seats.
