Delhi cm Rekha Gupta hit back at her predecessor arvind kejriwal after he shared a 14-second video clip of her remarks on electronic voting machines (EVMs).
Gupta accused kejriwal of obsessively watching her online content, including reels, interviews, and videos.
She suggested that instead of tracking her statements, he should focus on governance, particularly in Punjab, where AAP is in power.
Criticism of Video Editing
Gupta claimed the video shared by kejriwal was “edited” to misrepresent her words.
The bjp released the full clip of her interview with NDTV to clarify the context.
In the extended version, she emphasized:
“As long as congress was manipulating EVMs for 70 years, it was fine, but now that we’ve done it, they are feeling bad.”
She questioned why congress alleged EVM tampering only when the bjp won elections.
She criticized rahul gandhi for misleading the public and accused him of consistently lying.
Delhi CM’s Public Statement
Speaking at the foundation-laying ceremony of a multi-level electric bus depot in delhi, Gupta addressed kejriwal directly.
Her key statements included:
“Please reduce watching my videos, interviews, and reels. I think you watch my reels all day to find out what I say and do.”
Kejriwal should focus on helping flood-affected people in Punjab.
She reminded him that during his 11-year tenure as delhi cm, more focus on development could have prevented public suffering.
“Instead of watching my reels, eradicate the suffering of Punjab's electorate,” she added.
Political Context
The row comes amid Congress allegations of EVM tampering in recent elections.
Kejriwal posted the short clip on X, questioning, “What is the cm of delhi saying?”
BJP countered by releasing the full interview, showing that Gupta had criticized Congress’s approach and defended the integrity of elections.
Gupta highlighted the contrast between Congress’s long rule and its current allegations against the bjp, asserting the public mandate must be respected.
