Gandhi stated that the lady doctor, who had dedicated her life to healing others, became a victim of systemic persecution and power-protected criminals.

“This is not suicide, but institutional murder.”
He said that a police officer—entrusted to protect citizens—committed the most heinous crime by raping and exploiting the victim.
He accused the government of shielding criminals instead of ensuring justice.
Gandhi alleged that influential BJP-linked individuals had tried to pressure and corrupt the investigation.

He said the lady doctor’s death exposes the inhuman and insensitive face of the BJP-led government in Maharashtra.

She had reportedly argued with police officers over a medical examination, leading to a departmental inquiry.
