Overview
President Droupadi Murmu will undertake a state visit to Angola and Botswana from november 8–13, 2025.
This marks the first-ever official visit by an indian President to both nations.

Phase 1: Visit to Angola (November 8–11)
President Murmu will hold bilateral talks with the President of Angola.
She will also participate in Angola’s 50th Independence Day celebrations on november 11.

Address to the Angolan Parliament, promoting India-Angola friendship.
Interaction with the indian community in Angola.
Focus on strengthening political, economic, and cultural cooperation.
The visit aims to broaden diplomatic engagement and open new avenues in trade, investment, and cultural exchange.
Phase 2: Visit to botswana (November 11–13)
In botswana, President Mokgweetsi Masisi will hold formal talks with President Mokgweetsi Masisi.
Key areas of cooperation to be discussed:
Technology and innovation
Energy and renewable resources
Health and pharmaceuticals
Defense collaboration
Agriculture and investment opportunities
She will address the National assembly of botswana and visit historical and cultural landmarks.
The discussions aim to enhance the multi-sectoral partnership between india and Botswana.
Project Cheetah and Environmental Cooperation
India is already collaborating with namibia and south africa on wildlife conservation.
MEA Secretary sudhakar Dalela confirmed that talks with botswana are ongoing to bring cheetahs to india soon.
Botswana has shown readiness to cooperate in biodiversity and conservation initiatives.
Strategic Significance
The visit is expected to strengthen India’s influence in the African continent.
