Meanwhile Petrol is priced at Rs 113 per litre and diesel was priced at Rs 91 per litre, milk surpassed and was sold between Rs 120 per litre and Rs 140 per litre depending on the city and in parts of Sindh province, it was sold for Rs 140 per litre. Furthermore during Muharram, Sabeels (stalls) were set up in different parts of the city to offer milk, juices and cold water to the participants of the holy month's processions. Further due to the sharp increase in demand, the milk prices have shot up and touched new high.



Apparently the official price of milk put by the Commissioner's office is Rs 94 a litre. As per report from Karachi, Karachi commissioner Iftikhar Shallwani, who is responsible for controlling the price of milk, couldn't do anything about the exorbitant rates at which milk is being sold.
