It is more or less becoming a mind game between the Chief Ministers of both the Telugu. More than anything else, they seem to be competing on one another to satisfy the egos. The latest is by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandra Sekhar Rao. Both TRS and TDP have come to power promising Loan Waiver to farmers. But it will be difficult for both the governments to execute it given the huge amounts of money involved. But both the Chief Ministers are competing with each other to have an upper hand over the others. KCR's government today issued a GO stating that government is waiving off the farmers loans to the extent of One Lakh per family in the state. This move is intended to increase the pressure on Chandra Babu Naidu indirectly from his people to execute the promise like his Telangana counterpart In fact, Telangana government itself is not yet ready for the loan waiver. 19000 Crores is required to carry out the loan waiver. Government only got a relief of 4000 Crore from RBI Loan Rescheduling which only was only granted for 100 mandals across three districts of Telangana. KCR government is yet to figure out a way to acquire the remaining 15000 Crore funds. The order of the Telangana Government is not yet clear on various issues regarding the Loan Waiver scheme. The order did not have any mention about who will be the beneficiaries, timelines to complete the waiver, and what crops will come under the loan waiver scheme. Experts only see this attempt as a checkmate to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister.
