After getting hammered by Team India, Sri Lanka has taken some stern decisions for the Third Test which is about to begin in Delhi on December 2, 2017. Herath will be replaced by Jeffrey Vandersay and he is so far uncapped in the Test matches.

Herath went wicketless in the Kolkata test match and in Nagpur he just got one wicket with figures of 39-11-81-1. Sri Lankan bowlers just managed to pick 6 wickets in the second test. Sri Lanka has also sacked Left-arm Wrist spinner Lakshan Sandakan who went wicketless. Vandersay has played 11 ODI's and 7 T20I's so far.

Indian Team has already announced that Virat Kohli will continue to lead the team in the final test. However, he will be rested for the ODI's. Meanwhile, Shikar Dhawan who went on leave for the second test is returning back to the third test at Delhi.
