The second match of VIVO IPL 2018 between Delhi Daredevils and Kings XI Punjab, began with the former batting first, and though they had a miserable start, losing Munro (4) early, Captain Gautham Gambhir launched a calm and composed attack, and stood firm while wickets fell on the other end in quick succession, with Shreyas Iyer and Vijay Shankar
falling cheaply.

With some support from Rishab Pant (28) and Morris (27) from the lower order, Gambhir (55 , 42b, 5x4, 1x6)took the Delhi Daredevils to a respectable 166/7 in 20 overs, with Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Mohit Sharma claiming 2 wickets apiece, and Ashwin claiming one wicket and being the most economical bowler.  Kings XI Punjab innings began in a terrific manner, as opener KL Rahul blazed the fastest IPL fifty, as he bludgeoned the Delhi Daredevils attack all over the park, smashing thunderous sixers and boundaries.

Whille Mayank Agarwal and Yuvraj Singh were dismissed for poor scores, Karun Nair provided able support and scored a composed 50(33b, 5x4,2x6), helping ease the pressure on Kings XI Punjab, and taking the team closer to victory, as KL Rahul had ended his innings already with a stunning 51(16b, 6x4,4x6). After Karun Nair fell, it was left with David miller and Stoinis to finish the innings, and the duo chipped in with valuable 20s, taking Kings XI Punjab to an easy victory by 6 wickets, and with 7 balls to spare. Lokesh Rahul was adjudged the man of the match for his massy 50.
