CWG 2022: Will Ronaldo and Beckham bring medals for India? 


Cycling has not gained much popularity as a sport in india so far. india has not won any medal in cycling in the CWG Games so far. However, this time a team of 13 players is going to participate in this game. india expects medals from these players. Among these players, there are also 2 players named after the famous footballers Ronaldo and Beckham. Interestingly, Ronaldo and Beckham are also considered to be medal contenders.

A team of 13 players 

This time india has sent a team of 13 players to take part in cycling. Ronaldo is leading the men's contingent, while Mayuri Lute will lead the women's team.

Here are the 13 players: Y. Rojit Singh, L. Ronaldo Singh, E. David Beckham, Esso Alben, Vishwajit Singh, Dinesh Kumar, Naman Kapil, Venkappa Shivappa Kengalgutti, Ananth Narayan. The women's team consists of Mayuri Lute, Triyasha Paul, Meenakshi, Sasikala Agashe. Mayuri is leading the team.


Ronaldo-David Beckham are medal contenders

Ronaldo and David Beckham are at the forefront of medal contenders for india in cycling. Beckham grabbed everyone's attention with his brilliant performance in the Khelo india Youth Games in 2020 at the age of just 19. 

Ronaldo Singh is representing the indian team in cycling. Till now, he has proved his talent many times at the national level. A few years ago, there was not much craze for cycling in the country and only one national championship was held.

Australia has dominated cycling

Till now Australian players have dominated in sports like cycling. Cycling was included in the Commonwealth Games for the first time in the year 1934. However, it is an optional sport and it is up to any host country whether to include it or not.

Australia has won the most medals in cycling. A total of 231 medals have been won by australia in this game so far. england is number two, which has won 121 medals. This time the countrymen have high hopes from the indian team.
