
A team of the city police has been sent to amritsar to detain a woman from nagpur in maharashtra who crossed the border to pakistan from Kargil. A police officer gave this information on Tuesday. The officer said that the 'Pakistan Rangers' handed over 43-year-old woman Sunita Jamgade to the Border Security Force (BSF) on Saturday.
Woman left nagpur with 13-year-old son
Zone-5 Deputy Commissioner of police (DCP) Niketan Kadam said that the woman left nagpur with her 13-year-old son on May 4 and reached Kargil, from where she crossed the border to pakistan on May 14. He said that the woman was later caught by Pakistani authorities. A team of nagpur police has left for amritsar to take Sunita. Regional DCP Niketan Kadam said that further legal action can be taken against Sunita.
Sunita is in the custody of amritsar Police
The officer said that Sunita is currently in the custody of amritsar police, and a team of one officer and two women constables has been sent there to bring her back. Niketan Kadam said, "After taking her into custody, we will interrogate her. We will investigate whether she was involved in espionage or any other illegal activity."
The officer said that amritsar police has registered a 'Zero FIR', which will be transferred to Kapil nagar police station in Nagpur. The woman is a permanent resident of Kapil nagar area. The officer said that Sunita's son will also be brought back to nagpur soon.
