The Justice Sirpurkar Commission, which investigated the alleged rape and murder of Disha, a veterinary assistant surgeon at a state-run hospital, reported that the encounter was a fake one, which is a big defeat for the telangana police force. The three-member panel stated in its 387-page report to the supreme court that the police staged this encounter scene for immediate justice to the crime against women. The rape and murder of Disha sparked national indignation, and in Sangareddy, where the accused were arrested, the public gathered in huge numbers outside the police station, and the police used an encounter to calm the situation.

According to the report, ten police officers were involved in the incident, and the dead did not commit any crimes such as seizing police guns, firing at them, or attempting to flee the scene. After thoroughly evaluating the technical, scientific, and forensic data, the Justice Sirpurkar Commission ruled that the encounter was a hoax. The commission questioned around 373 people as witnesses in this investigation.

The police personnel, including VC Sajjanar, are likely to be charged under IPC 302 now that the panel has declared the encounter to be a hoax (Punishment for murder). Disha, a 26-year-old woman from Shamshabad, near Hyderabad, was raped and murdered in november 2019. Mohammed Arif, Chintakunta Chennakeshavulu, Jolu Shiva, and Jolu naveen were all detained as a result of this incident.
