Jack Dorsey, the co-founder of twitter, levelled a surprising accusation against the narendra modi administration. On social media, a video clip addressing this issue is extensively shared. In addition to threatening to raid and detain twitter india staff, Dorsey alleged that the Modi government urged twitter to ban accounts covering farmer demonstrations and criticising the government. He added that he has received many requests from India.

Dorsey brought up india as a significant market for twitter throughout the conversation. He disclosed that the government had threatened to shut down Twitter's operations and had threatened to raid the residences of its employees. Dorsey emphasised that these events had place in democratic India. Dorsey said these things when asked how he dealt with demands from influential people.

When asked if he had ever come under pressure from other governments, Dorsey, who resigned from the twitter board last year, said, "For example, india is one of the countries that had many requests around farmers protests, around particular journalists who were critical of the government, and it manifested in ways like 'we will shut down twitter in India'... 'we would raid the homes of your employees', which they did; 'we will shut down y'all's service,'" Additionally, this is democratic India.
