After a condom was discovered dangling from a bharatiya janata party (BJP) banner during a rally held in advance of panchayat elections in the state, a new political conflagration broke out in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal. The episode, which was reported from the village of Shikarpur, generated a stir among political watchers and the general public.
Nakul Das, the district president of the bjp Kishan Morcha, lodged a police report with the neighbourhood police department on Thursday. police removed the flag after receiving a complaint in order to stop the tension in the vicinity from getting worse. Additionally, an inquiry was started.

Das called it a "ugly act" and blamed the Trinamool Congress, which is now in power, for placing the condom on the saffron party's flag. He said, "I am projecting this based on their prior notoriety when their leader Sayani Ghosh (of the TMC youth Wing) clothed Shivlinga with a condom. The bjp asserted that it was a malicious conduct meant to harm the party's name and bring it into disrepute. party representatives denounced the behaviour and claimed it was an intentional attempt to harm the party's reputation and stir up unneeded controversy.

The act of placing the condom on the bjp flag is currently being investigated by local authorities to see if it was political sabotage or an effort to raise awareness of societal problems with sexual health and awareness. Leaders of the TMC countered that the event was an example of the BJP's backward approach to delicate issues like sexual health and reproductive rights. They wanted a full inquiry and asked the party to address the larger issues the episode had brought to light.

"This is a deplorable conduct, and our party abhors it. They are attributing this incident to us, yet we haven't done anything wrong. No flags should be torn down or have anything hung from them. We vehemently oppose this behaviour. Regional TMC President Nayan Basak stated, "I don't think our party members did it.
